I have always loved to read but writing, not so much. I would dread my English classes because I would feel lost when it came to writing essays. Over the course of this semester I feel like my confidence and understanding of the writing process has grown and assignments like 1,000 word essays are not so daunting anymore. While I would never switch to an English major writing is something that I can find enjoyment from now, I especially liked the creativity in writing the personal narrative and in finding evidence and explaining that thought process, like in the rhetorical analysis essay, comes easier to me now.
My e-portfolio contains all of the assignments from this semester like blog posts, essays, essay reflections, and the podcast recording, outline, and transcript. The way I have organized my website I would say is very clean and simple. All of my pages are labeled at the top so people can easily find what they are looking for. All of the pages have the same layout for continuity: a short description of the assignment, the actual assignment and then my reflection on how I thought the assignment went for me. I added a few pictures to make it more visually appealing. I picked photos that matched each assignment for example, a microphone for my podcast page or an alligator because that was what the story of my rhetorical analysis was about. Lastly, I spaced out my paragraphs so it would not overwhelm readers.
